Our Measures in Environment, Social Matters and Corporate Responsibility

Examining our own CO₂ footprint has reinforced our conviction that we should continue to develop responsible conduct within our own company in a consistent way.

For 2023 we accounted for around 285 tonnes of CO₂ emissions from our business operations. We see this figure as a starting point from which to develop concrete reduction measures in our own organisation. In addition, we support selected climate-protection projects for emissions that cannot currently be avoided.

The emissions figures stated are based on an internal accounting of our business operations for 2023. We understand climate-protection contributions solely as complementary measures to our own reduction steps; they do not replace a continuous reduction of avoidable emissions and do not constitute a claim of climate neutrality.

From analysis to action

We have focused where immediate effect can be achieved in our operations: with a binding travel policy and a fully paperless office. We support the development of climate-resilient mixed forests in Germany and thereby promote regional biodiversity and climate-protection initiatives.

Responsible investing begins with our own stance.

By responsible investing we mean the consideration of environmental, social and corporate-ethical aspects within individual investment guidelines.

As a family office with a clear understanding of values, we think of responsibility beyond the financial. We do not treat responsible investing as an add-on, but as an integral part of our entrepreneurial thinking.

Our definition of sustainable investments combines long-term stability with environmental and social criteria across asset classes – and it starts with an honest look inward. We distinguish between so-called “do no harm” approaches, ESG-integrated investments and impact investments. This gives orientation to clients who, alongside return, also want to take impact, substance and stance into account.

Responsible investing: find out more.

A family office has a particular responsibility: it manages wealth not only for today, but with a view to generations. That is why responsible investing is not a short-term trend for us, but part of a values-based long-term strategy. At Liesner & Co. we see ourselves as a partner for clients who want to combine economic success with societal impact – with a clear stance, sound analysis and a real understanding of ecological relationships.

Unlike conventional financial service providers, a family office can offer individual solutions with a long view. There is the freedom to think holistically – beyond return targets. This room for design makes it possible to deploy capital consciously where it has an effect: in companies with a sustainable business model, in regional climate projects or in future-ready infrastructure. For us, responsible investing means: recognising opportunities, actively managing risks, and preserving values in the process.

A family office aligned with responsibility combines stability with accountability. For our clients that means: transparent decision paths, individually agreed ESG and impact criteria, and the certainty that their wealth not only grows, but contributes to addressing global challenges.
